Summer Infant Recalls Video Baby Monitors With Cords Part Two | Toledo, Ohio Child Accident Lawyer
Summer Infant Inc. is now providing new product labels and instructions for around 1.7 million video baby monitors with electrical cords. These cords can present a strangulation hazard to infants and toddlers if they are placed to close to the crib. Because of this serious strangulation risk parents and caregivers should place these and other corded cameras at least three feet away from the crib.Last October CPSC issued a safety alert warning customers since 2004 there have been six deaths related to baby monitor cords. Since that alert the number of strangulation deaths has gone to seven. The alert now reads "Infants Can Strangle in Baby Monitor Cords" The CPSC is still interested in any reports of Infants dying due to monitor cord strangulation or any other hazards the Summer Infant Monitors may cause.
