Our Findlay, Ohio child car accident attorneys were pleased to read that House Bill 448 was just introduced in the Ohio General Assembly, which would require all school busses purchased, leased, or rented after January 1, 2014 to be equipped wit a safety belt, according to Toledo Legal News.The article went on to explain that over 7,000 children per year are sent to the emergency room due to school bus crashes, and that the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends lap-shoulder belts be installed in school buses.
It is likely that the school bus that your child is riding in does not have a seatbelt, which makes it that much more important to stress the importance of school bus safety with your child.
